[sorry, naminé, he really doesn't mean to be so rude! whenever he's sure it's safe and she won't get hurt any further, sizhui will come back without a doubt. but until then, she's fine where she's at (for now—)
he's got a monster to handle, which has grown ever closer during the few minutes he took to move something amount of feet away from where naminé is hidden, though the rustling noises follow him and that's exactly what he wants. the lan boy is counting its steps behind his own, measuring distance, clenching his fingers in a vice-like grip on his sword—
except when he pivots on his heel and brings the blade downward, it strikes nothing but air, effectively catching him off-guard. his expression pinches with confusion, mouth opening like he might actually make a verbal attempt at getting the dragon-bat's attention and then – because of course – it's on him within a matter of seconds, rushing him from the left. the only reason he doesn't get pounced by the creature is he manages scuffling forward enough to narrowly avoid its wing-spikes as it darts by.
he all but leaps toward the nearest tree, swings himself around the trunk, presses his back up against it with an unsteady exhale. too close, and following an inhale and another sigh, sizhui pushes off the tree to go after the monster. isn't he just the luckiest? it's waiting for him; this time, however, his sword is also readied and out of sheer instinct, he thrusts his arm forward— nails the dragon-bat straight across its face, which effectively (momentarily) diverts it, sends the thing scurrying backward with an ear-piercing shriek. later, whenever he realizes the fog has the ability to cause hallucinations, he'll at least have that to blame. yet again, it makes another dive; misses, although it's already suffering two injuries now so perhaps given the benefit of the doubt, the fact it's still going is impressive.
that's probably why it makes a hasty retreat into the fog once it gets past him and honestly, sizhui's fine with this. he hurries the opposite direction, back to where he'd left naminé, stopping nearby though not too close in case the dragon-bat comes back.] Are you alright? [he calls out, hoping he's loud enough.]
